Plantation Lake*

25/04 2007

Plantation is fishing very well with some cracking fish coming out, Graham Stoneham: 25lb 6oz, Kieson Steel: 20lb 4oz, Mickey Hamer: 18lb 7oz, Danny Woodin: 20lb 3oz, Peter Brant: 19lb, Mr Pannel: 11lb 12oz, 13lb, 14lb 8oz, John Southgate: 18lb

There really is no preferred method but you can never go far wrong with the Korda maggot clip and maggots in you ground bait. On warm sunny days it’s posslb le to get them feeding on the surface so always have a few dog biscuits in your bags, if the fish are on the surface leave one rod on the bottom and have one on top.

Prairie Lake

25/04 2007

Prairie Lake has really been fishing well and continues to produce some cracking fish. As with Plantation, pellet can be a real favorite at this time of year. Maggot and caster always seem to work along with the flavored corns and luncheon meats.

The monster Perch are back in evidence so sling a float fished lob worm into the margins and you never know? The key to this lake at the moment seems to be using plenty of bait don’t be afraid to put it in.

Sandwich Lake

25/04 2007

The match fishing is doing amazingly at the moment with some huge bags:

01-04-07 Henbest 1st 95lb, 2nd 54lb, 3rd 46lb

11-04-07 Wednesday Club 1st 76lb, 2nd 75lb, 3rd 61lb

22-04-07 Henbest 1st 80lb, 2nd 70lb, 3rd 60lb

Float fishing is always productive as well as ledgering. Scale your hook length right down and concentrate on as finer presentation as you dare to fool the bigger fish. Sandwich remains very constant as we enter into the winter months with very good bags being put together on a daily basis… Favorite baits at present are corn, pellet, worm and caster. Particles such as hemp always work well so bear that in mind.

Remember that matches run at this time of year so it’s worth phoning before a Wednesday or Sunday session session to check availability.

Kettles Lake

25/04 2007

Kettles has again been fishing well and continues to produce lots of those hard fighting Carp that so many of you enjoy. The method remains the firm favorite as far as tactics go but don’t overlook the humble float fished worm or maggot, especially in the margins. This can be a real winner.

Particle continues to produce, remember to keep topping up your swim throughout the session. Little and often is the way to go. Try scaling down your presentation some times it’s the smallest changes that can make a good days fishing into a great days fishing.

Pullens Lake Adult only

25/04 2007

With the spring feed try putting a bit more bait out they have been responding to a bit more in the warmer days, Why not try out tares, maize or lupins they can be really effective at this time of year, especially when used in conjunction with glugged particle. The humble Tutti Fruity can be a real winner.

Well done to Mr Pallet! On his first 24Hr session he caught 2 Mirrors, a pristine 24lb and an 18lb . Mr J Quinlan: 30lb, Ted Dijkhuizen: 28lb 3oz.

West End Lake Adult only

25/04 2007

Westend seems to be the lake of the moment and is getting very popular it is producing loads of big fish, Paul Noakes had 8 doubles and a 19lb 8oz Mirror, David Moughan: 25lb, Ron Hunter fished Boilie for a 30lb oz, John Hallet: 30lb, Matthew Allgood: 30lb, so it’s been a very successful 4 weeks.

Remember to keep topping up your swim throughout the session, the most successful Boilie at the moment seems to be Nash Scopex Squid and Liver. Pellet is also worth a try and can really do the business, especially when fished in conjunction with a pva bag of smaller pellet near the hook-bait but add some fruity glug just to give it an extra edge.
