Plantation Lake*
23/09 2007
Plantation is fishing very well with some cracking fish coming out. Well done to Jason Juson who caught a 23lb Mirror, and the new lake record goes to Robert Newell who had a 32lb 10oz Mirror.
There really is no preferred method but you must keep feeding your swim, mixed particle and one of our Solar range Boilies are doing very well. On warm sunny days it is possible to get them feeding on the surface so always have a few dog biscuits in your bags, if the fish are on the surface leave one rod on the bottom and have one on top.
* Tackle requirements are a 30” net and an un-hooking mat per angler.
Prairie Lake
23/09 2007
Prairie Lake has really been fishing well and continues to produce some cracking fish. As with Plantation, pellet can be a real favorite at this time of year. Maggot and caster always seem to work along with the flavored corns and the new Dynamite Frenzied luncheon meats.
The key to this lake at the moment seems to be using plenty of bait don’t be afraid to put it in.
Sandwich Lake
23/09 2007
Float fishing is always productive as well as ledgering. Scale your hook length right down and concentrate on as finer presentation as you dare to fool the bigger fish. Sandwich remains very constant as we enter into the winter months with very good bags being put together on a daily basis… Favorite baits at present are corn, pellet, worm and caster. Particles such as hemp always work well so bear that in mind.
Matches have now started so so please call for availability.
Match results for Caterham Angling: 1st T. Hills 90lb 12oz, 2nd N. Coster 64lb 6oz, 3rd P. Hargreaves 54lb 3oz.
Kettles Lake
23/09 2007
Kettles has again been fishing well and continues to produce lots of those hard fighting Carp that so many of you enjoy. The method remains the firm favorite and Particle continues to produce, remember to keep topping up your swim throughout the session. Little and often is the way to go.
Try scaling down your presentation sometimes it’s the smallest changes that can make good day’s fishing into a great day’s fishing.
Remember if you’re having no luck on the bottom with boilies try using floaters, on sunny days with little or no wind the Carp will be on the surface.
Pullens Lake Adult only
23/09 2007
The fish have gone mad in Pullens in the last couple of weeks, with some really big bags being put together. Alan Boyce: 34lb 14oz, Tony Drew: 20lb, 22lb, 27lb, 28lb, and 34lb, Lee Kelly: 24lb, 25lb, 27lb, and 29lb x 2, Vince Whyborne: 29lb 4oz, 23lb 2oz, 23lb 8oz, 23lb 12oz, 26lb 8oz, 25lb, 28lb 8oz, and 33lb 4oz, John page: 32lb
So as you can see it’s fishing very well, the most productive bait in the last week is Maize, so make sure you have some with you.
West End Lake Adult only
23/09 2007
Westend seems to be the lake of the moment and is getting very popular it is producing loads of big fish. Remember to keep topping up your swim throughout the session, the most successful Boilie at the moment seems to be Nash Scopex Squid and Liver. Pellet is also worth a try and can really do the business, especially when fished in conjunction with a pva bag of smaller pellet near the hook-bait but add some fruity glug just to give it an extra edge.
